When someone is trying to pick a fight with you.

1. Leave it alone.
2. Don’t make an issue of it.
3. You don’t have to answer every dog that barks.
4. If you don’t let it drop, it’s going to escalate.
5. Just because someone throws down the gauntlet, doesn’t mean you have to pick it up.
6. Leave it well enough alone.
7. Just ignore it.
8. Don’t pay it any mind.
9. Let it be.
10. I can assure you, nothing good is going to come from this.
11. Two wrongs don't make a right.
12. Just walk away, and pretend that it never happened.
13. You should know better than that.
14. Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all in response.
15. If you don't respond, it will all just blow over as if nothing happened.
